Nathan Chesney
Psychotherapist in Kettering

Hi, I am Nathan, welcome. I have over 20 years experience in the NHS assessing, treating and supporting people with mental ill health, I have studied counselling and psychotherapy and I am in the advanced stages of training as a Transactional Analyst (T.A.) psychotherapist. This form of therapy involves the person taking a close observation of themselves and of how those around us shaped our personality . Many people believe that this is unchangeable, transactional analysis helps us to analyse our beliefs about ourselves and others and to look at these beliefs in the here and now. This process can free us from negative patterns of behaviour and relationship and allow us to become the person we have always wanted be.
T.A. helps people to develop insight about themselves and why they have their problems and when this begins to happen people they find it possible to overcome their difficulties.
I have a small clinic in a village near Kettering, Northants and in Hampstead Heath, London.

Background & Psychotherapy Qualifications

With 20 years of experience of working in mental health services and specialising in drug and alcohol and mental illness I have come to understand the complex nataure of such issues and I developed an interest in various psychotherapeutic approaches, as a result I began studying these and integrating them into my practice. I have decided to reduce my working hours with the NHS to set up my private practice offering Transactional Analysis.
