Nicola Kerr
Psychotherapist in London

I work with adult individuals and offer open-ended psychodynamic psychotherapy. This longer-term therapy would give us time to address issues on a deeper level, at the roots of distress.

I also offer 12-week short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy with adult individuals where we would look at more focused issues - a rough patch at work or the break up of a relationship for example. This way of working would be focused on something specific to your current situation.

Background & Psychotherapy Qualifications

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist (PGDip), having trained at Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF Therapy) which is one of the UK's leading academic and clinical institutions for counselling and psychotherapy. I hold a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic theory and practice, validated by Roehampton University. I am registered with The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC), and a professional member of The British Psychoanalytic Council, therefore I adhere to their code of ethics and working practice. Alongside my private practice I am working towards accreditation as a Dynamic Interpersonal Therapist (DIT) within the psychological services, at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Approach to Psychotherapy & How I Work

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a therapy focused on you and what have been your patterns and ways of relating. These patterns have often been developed unknowingly throughout life. Psychotherapy can help identify these patterns to gain a fuller understanding of yourself.
