Patricia Leeson
Shiatsu Practitioner in Woking

Relax into the supportive and caring hands of an experienced practitioner.

I have been practising this hands-on therapeutic massage form for over 20 years releasing physical and emotional tension, stimulating blood flow and freeing joints while promoting the deeper energetic self-healing functions of the body. Shiatsu is an acupressure based body work that naturally supports your physical, emotional and mental health. Originating in Japan, Shiatsu is a wonderful treatment for body and soul and as the treatment is clothed there are no modesty issues or problems with messy oils.

I also teach Yoga and Qi Gong both of which work with your body, breath and mental awareness to maintain physical health and emotional well-being. I have dedicated my life to these arts both for my own benefit and also for the benefit of others. I hope you will find the time to come and experience these benefits.

For more information on any of these systems of well-being, please contact me directly.

My Specialisms

Shiatsu is a holistic therapy that supports and helps to balance the body's natural energy, so clients come to me for a variety of reasons including: back pain, sacro-illiac problems, neck and shoulder problems, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, stress related health problems, knee pain, menstrual problems, breathing issues, digestive issues, general maintenance, etc.

Shiatsu is superb at supporting the body's natural energy and development through times of great change, so during the periods of great change in a woman's life it is exceptionally beneficial and I have a particular interest in supporting women through the postnatal period but also through pregnancy, and menopause.

Approach to Shiatsu & How I Work

Prior to Shiatsu treatment, some time is spent discussing any health issues and all aspects of lifestyle including diet, exercise and sleep patterns etc. This information helps me to get a better picture of your natural tendencies and health patterns.

At the start of treatment, you will be invited to make yourself comfortable on a specialist futon with cushions for support. Treatment lasts around 50 minutes and includes a combination of pressure, softly opening stretches and gently freeing mobilisation of the joints that revitalise the tissues and stimulate the natural healing systems of the body. My focus is to support the body to heal itself and let go of any unnecessary tension that can cause illness, stress and discomfort.

Under Covid Restrictions, I run weekly classes for both Yoga (online only currently )and Qi Gong (online and outdoors when allowed) and I offer Shiatsu treatments at my home clinic in Woking. I am limiting treatments and allowing a minimum of 1 hour between clients to air and clean the space. Appropriate PPE is also worn. I offer home visits, but please be aware that due to Covid restrictions this may not be available. (Travel costs and time taken travelling mean that home visits are more costly.)

Please do contact me with any queries or concerns. I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Testimonials

Janet F on 23/06/2016

"My husband and I have been having shiatsu massages for many years now with Pat. We go to her sometimes with specific aches or otherwise for a top up wellness massage, and her hands work their magic every time. She is outstanding and has a gift. We always come away from her feeling healed, restored and invigorated."

"I initially went to Pat for shiatsu when I was suffering from pains in my lower legs. Pat sorted out my problem very quickly as well as other problems I had (a clicky jaw!) . I was very impressed and have continued to go for regular treatments ever since . Pat is professional but sympathetic to the needs of her patients. I have recommended her to many friends and colleagues . "
