Gail Lowe

Acupressurist in Exeter

I have been a massage therapist for over 32 years after working as a qualified nurse in both General and Psychiatric nursing! One of the best decisions of my life and here I am still passionately enjoying my treatments as well as running Devon Academy, an accredited and registerred college and training over 2700 therapists who also run their own successful practices in the UK and abroad.

I work closely with the NHS and other allied therapists and still have my clinic in Exeter on Marsh Barton. I suppose I specialise in all massage disciplines. I can be as firm as you like with Remedial and Sports Massage and have released tension and spasms in many Olympic athletes as well as military staff from Chivenor and more recently Lympstone. I was commended tutor of the year in 2015 and have taught over 200 GP's and nurses about the benefits of massage for their patients.

For me, massage keeps body and soul together and without that regular M.O.T to destress and release tension and pain throughout the body I would certainly not be able to continue enjoying such a healthy lifestyle and living the dream. My clientelle tend to be elderly patients who enjoy a firm treatment to improve their mobility and release their aches and pains and keep them moving as well as young athletes who want a Deep Tissue or Sports massage to rectify a specific issue. I am also a clinical Aromatherapist and have used my oils to treat many conditions as well as detoxifying, uplifting and relaxing thousands of clients over the years. I have referrals from the medical professionals, chiropractors and Osteopaths and if you want to have an informal chat about whether my treatments can help you, then please give me a ring.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

I specialize in Massage therapies only and believe that a regular massage can keep your body healthy and keep you in touch with any changes to its condition and performance. If you feel well you look well, at a time when our physical appearance is everything we should be looking from the inside out not just superficially for health and happiness. A regular massage can improve the function of your body, aiding circulation and lymph drainage, relaxing muscles and releasing toxins and waste products, leaving you feeling relaxed and more able to cope. It can release pain and regularly release the tension and stress of modern living. As you get older massage helps maintain your mobility, removing stiffness in joints and helping to stimulate elasticity and suppleness in the skin and muscles.

I also believe that massage should be therapeutic as well as relaxing and that many therapists are limited in their knowledge of the physiology of the body which is vital if you are going to stimulate and enhance health and vitality. I practice very thorough techniques that reach the parts other treatments don't reach.
