, Acupressurist, Bowen Technique, Flower Essences Therapy, Reiki - Bury St Edmunds
Based in Suffolk, a Bowen Practitioner since 2011 and a Bach Flower Registered Practitioner since 2013. Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) registered. Joined the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) Committee in December 2014.
I am passionate about the Bowen Technique, and I continue to be in awe of the many benefits to the body that this work can bring. The Bowen Technique is a gentle, relaxing, effective hands-on therapy that works by stimulating the body's own resources. It consists of light pressure, unique rolling movements made over specific muscles, ligaments and tendons at key stress points of the body. These moves send impulses to the brain which encourage the body to revert to its natural healing state and promote the subtle and fine adjustments needed for re-balancing, re-alignment, tension relief and pain reduction.
The Bowen Technique has parallels to Bach Remedies in that both are a way of helping the body and mind to heal itself, a way of getting back some balance in the body naturally. I also offer combined sessions of the Bowen Technique with a personal mix of Bach Remedies to take away after the consultation. This has been a very successful approach as the two healing therapies work very well together. I am also a Reiki master practitioner and also qualified in acupressure massage.
Prior to becoming a Bowen Practitioner (Cert ECBS), was a Local Government Officer for 22 years, firstly as a Building Surveying Technician before switching to Traffic Management in a busy highway engineering section. The road into complementary therapy was another major yet natural switch in career after many years of interest in natural health and healing.
I work alongside another therapist, Janette at our complementary therapy practice, Well Beans in Pakenham, Suffolk. Janette is a Reflexologist, specialising in maternity Reflexology. She is also a Reiki Master, currently training to be a Reiki Master teacher. Our Practice is a welcoming place, busy from word-of-mouth recommendation. We work with the principle that everyone is unique & we work holistically to achieve good health.

I run a children's clinic, usually seeing around 5 to 12 children a week for Bowen therapy and sometimes for Bach flower remedies. This is a very rewarding part of my job.
A child's Bowen treatment is very gentle. A session lasts around 20 to 30 minutes and most children find it to be a pleasant and relaxing experience. All treatments are carried out through light clothing, whilst the parent/guardian remains in the room. See http://www.wellbeans.co.uk/bowenchildren
Parents and carers have reported improvement in symptoms of many childhood ailments including asthma, anxiety issues, learning difficulties, ADHD and autism. They have noticed better posture, balance, co-ordination, and the ability to cope better with the effects of anxiety and trauma. Benefits include improved sleeping patterns, concentration, motor control & behaviour.
As parents ourselves, we understand how important a child's happiness and wellbeing is. To learn more about how Bowen has helped children, read the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) Parents' Testimonial & Case Studies and visit the Bowen Children's Clinic Network on Facebook. I run a Bowen Children's Clinic at well beans and served on the BTPA committee as Children's Clinic Coordinator from 2014 to 2017.
