In the first acupuncture session, Christina will take an in-depth history on your general health, medical history, and lifestyle, in order to form a complete diagnostic picture of your health. This involves asking questions about your current symptoms, as well as such things as, your sleeping pattern, appetite, and your general well being. Christina will also take your pulses and look at your tongue. You will also receive a preliminary treatment in the first session, after the initial consulation. The first session lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours, with follow-up treatments typically lasting between 45-60 minutes.
Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture, also known as Facial Enhancment Acupuncture, is a totally natural, and holistic anti-ageing treatment that aims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and lift areas on the face, i.e. cheek and jaw line. When acupuncture needles are inserted into the face, it causes tiny micro-traumas in the skin's surface, resulting in the skin's self-repair process producing an increase in collagen and blood flow to the area. This gives an overall improvement in facial complexion and muscle tone.
A facial acupuncture session begins by inserting acupuncture needles into specific points on the hands and feet, used for their calming and energy giving properties. This is then followed by a deep facial cleanse before the insertion of acupuncture needles in the face. After the needles have been removed, the treatment continues with a facial massage, before finishing the treatment with the application of a facial serum, and a face cream.
