Julie Barton

Arts Therapist in Manchester

I have over 20 years experience working with vulnerable adults. As an Art Therapist I have practised for 11 years in a range of settings, most recently in schools and with looked after children.

I am HCPC regulated by law and also a BAAT approved private practice practitioner, which offers an extra level of assurance to individuals seeking therapy.

I am a competent and personable practitioner who is dedicated to bringing about change through the use of art therapy. Using art materials within the safety of a therapeutic relationship can bring about new ways of looking at old issues. Art language comes before verbal language- some experiences are difficult to express and can be more symbiotic with the making of art than with words.

You do not have to be good at art to use art therapy, simply willing to be open to using the materials as a form of expression.
