Dramatherapy enables clients of all ages to begin to view difficulties and hopes from a helpful, safe, therapeutic distance.
Creativity and a more positive and hopeful outlook are outcomes.
Psychoanalytical thinking, linking past and present, is central in my approach, including the 2 year Tavistock Baby Observation enriched by Melanie Klein,
Bion, Winnicott and Bowlby on attachment. Sue Gerhardt's Why Love Matters influences my approach.
TRAUMATIC BIRTHS - Mums' evaluations very positive.
Many couples have never thought about an opportunity to think with/without their partner about the mentally painful difficulties around their child's birth. Those painful difficulties are immensely important in influencing what can be negative feelings about our offspring.
Each person/couple/family is of course unique.
2 - 4 assessment meetings (1 hr) enable you to be heard and to think with me about how my approach can help you, your relationships and hopes.
Feelings can't always be described; clients can be confused and uncertain about their difficulties. I also work with young people who are diagnosed with autism
and who may be mute.
Dramatherapy is effective in offering safe, verbal and non-verbal ways of working together and coming through difficulties, feeling stronger.
