Marta Zdzieblowska

Arts Therapist in London

I offer a creative, compassionate and reaserch backed approach to counselling and psychotherapy in Central and East London.

You may feel overwhelmed, stuck or unsure of your next steps, perhaps something is not allowing you to live your life fully. A lot of people feel isolated in their struggles, pushing pain away just to get by. You may feel an underlying sense of unease even if things look fine from the outside.

Together, we can create a space for you to focus on what matters, explore both your difficulties and aspirations. This can be an entry point to living life with more meaning, more joy and connection with yourself and others.

I warmly invite you for an initial consultation. It will be a chance for us to meet each other and discuss your hopes and worries about the counselling process and find out how we could work together.

Background & Qualifications

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGDip), validated by the Middlesex University and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

To ensure the safety and the quality of my practice, I am in regular supervision. I am also a registered member of the BACP and I adhere to their Ethical Framework (https://www.bacp.co.uk/events-and-resources/ethics-and-standards/ethical-framework-for-the-counselling-professions/)

My Specialisms

As an Integrative practitioner, I draw on a range of different approaches. These include Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Transpersonal as well as body-orientated methods, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques, mindfulness well as elements of Art Therapies.

My core training is in Psychosynthesis, an integrative psychological approach that can be adapted to your needs. Psychosynthesis incorporates current psychological research while drawing on wisdom traditions in its philosophy. It offers a holistic view of the psyche which encompasses your pain and difficulties as well as your unique potential. It acknowledges your complexity and it takes your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing into consideration.

Things I can help with include depression, anxiety and stress, low self-esteem, addictive behaviour patterns, bereavement and loss, physical illness and chronic pain, issues concerning belonging, culture and identity, relationships and family concerns, burnout, career and life choices, navigating transitions and change, questions concerning life's purpose.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

I offer a warm, non-judgmental and creative approach. Above all else I will listen to you attentively and respectfully; we can then both decide on the direction of our work together.

I see counselling as a process of creative collaboration which does not need to be limited to a dialogue. Some people find it helpful to explore deeply ingrained patterns or complex feelings through guided imagery, dream work, drawing or movement. Others find that mindfulness-based cognitive approaches are well suited to their needs. There are many options, together we can find out what would be most helpful to you.
