Bowen Technique Practitioner in Bracknell

I used to be a competitive runner and cyclist and was frequently injured. I tried many different therapies and the only one that had any lasting result was Bowen Therapy. At that time I was a financial controller, and also hugely stressed and decided it was time to change. Bowen Therapy not only helped with my sporting injuries but calmed me down and made me realise that I wanted to be able to help people rather than crunch numbers! Initially I trained as a personal trainer whilst still working and then as a Bowen Therapist. It was the best thing I ever did. I now work full time as a Bowen Therapist and have set up "The Wellness Centre" . The aim of "The Wellness Centre" is that all the therapists there can call on each other to help our clients achieve their optimum well-being. I am passionate about Bowen Therapy and the results I have seen with it and can frequently be found on courses updating my knowledge.

Background & Qualifications

I qualified in 2011 with "The College of Bowen Studies" (then ECBS) and in 2005 as a personal trainer and gained my anatomy and physiology certificate with "Lifetime Fitness", (Reps Level 3) and in 2007 as a "UK Athletics Coach" specialising in running.

I am a member of CNHC, BTPA and CBS. Although I use my knowledge of personal training and run coaching in my Bowen Treatments, I no longer personal train as my love is Bowen Therapy.

I have attended many courses including Anatomy Trains, Dissection Courses, Cranio Bowen, Exercise and Rehabilitation and Body Mind Works (which works with the sub-conscious mind).

My Specialisms

Where to start!

Bowen Therapy is a treatment that treats you on all different levels. People fascinate me, and my main aim is for you to leave the therapy room feeling better whether this is emotionally or physically.

Hyper-mobility fascinates me as it is a very complex condition ( often not diagnosed) and can lead to so many other complications which Bowen Therapy is great at addressing, Anxiety and stress (nowadays so common) can have a huge impact on posture which in turn can lead to pain. Naturally sporting injuries are included and I very much use movement patterns to find out where the original source of the pain may be.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

My treatments are an hour long, but prior to this I send out a comprehensive consultation form for you to complete and some guidance as to what to expect from a treatment. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and relaxed with both myself and your surroundings so I do go to considerable lengths to find the right clinic to treat from.

On a first appointment we will chat through the form and cover any additional information either of us feel may be relevant. I will carry out assessments if necessary, both static and moving.

I carry out my treatments through light clothing and will always check in with you to ensure that you are comfortable and the pressure of the moves is appropriate to yourself. On the breaks in the treatment I will leave the room (unless specifically requested not to) so that you are able to relax and the body absorb the signals uninterrupted from the moves I have carried out.
