My Specialisms

- I am familiar working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, panic attacks and obsessive compulsive disorder.
- I have, and currently have, specialist experience working with eating disorders and substance misuse problems.

Approach to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & How I Work

- I have trained in various approaches including psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Schema focussed Therapy (a type of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
- My practice is heavily informed by cognitive behavioural theory as I believe clients want to see progress beyond a better understanding of their problems. Therapy sessions are interactive; there are no silences or 'interpretations' about what I think is going 'unconsciously'. Therapy can be challenging, upsetting and emotional though always supportive and compassionate.
