Counsellor in Nutley

I'm a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who has been in private practice in the UK for over twenty years. My practice is located within a calm secluded property in the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex. Here I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for people to explore their problem areas, as well as their hopes and dreams. I try to be a guide, travelling alongside my clients, whilst together, we consider options for the future, informed but not restricted by past experience. I have a wealth of life experience and willingly enter into the experience of my clients. Although my speciality lies in the fields of sexuality and relationships I'm happy to work with you on any aspects of your life.

My Specialisms

Much of the work I do involves helping people deal with relationship 'hiccups'. These range from relationship with the self, to long-term intimate relationships and complicated new beginnings.
As a psychologist, I also research relationships, and am interested in the uniqueness of each individual relationship, be it homosexual, heterosexual, polyamorous, or one of the numerous more diverse relationship choices available to us.
I'm a kink aware professional who is comfortably able to work with clients following BDSM, pagan and alternative lifestyles.

My work with individuals covers many areas, including anxiety, stress, trauma, bereavement and work related concerns.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

In addition to working from a core psychosynthesis perspective, I'm able to draw on a variety of other trainings when appropriate. These include CBT, person-centred and other humanistic therapies as well as ecotherapy and shamanic practice.
Following an initial discussion with my clients, I offer therapeutic options suitable for their specific starting point and dependant on previous experience of psychotherapy.
I'm a sex-positive couples therapist and believe that we're all entitled to a satisfying and fulfilling relationship with our self and others. I love working in the privileged position of helping couples and moresomes find solutions to having their personal connection.
