Counsellor in Largs

I am a Registered and Accredited MBACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist & Supervisor with many years' experience of working therapeutically with people. As a professional counsellor, my aim is to offer a safe, confidential, therapeutic, counselling relationship to clients. I have a well established Private Practice and am also an affiliate counsellor for several Employee Assistance Providers; some local business organisations and I am a Bupa Recognised Practitioner. I also have previous experience as a Counsellor in Primary Care within a GP practice and as an affiliate counsellor for Working Health Services NHS.

Before training as a therapist, I worked in areas of management, administration, customer service and care. I hope to bring all my life experience and skills to my work with clients. I value individuality, difference and equality.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

As a relational person-centred counsellor, I believe that everyone has their own answers as to what is best for them. However, in times of difficulty and stress, we can all feel overwhelmed and not know what to do or where to start in finding our own solutions. My aim is to be alongside clients throughout their journey of exploration. By offering clients a genuine, understanding and accepting relationship that is free of judgments and assumptions, I hope it will be possible for them to feel free and safe to look at all aspects of their experiencing. This approach supports clients as they build their personal power, self-acceptance, self-awareness and self-trust. I aim to be sensitive to the cultural and ethnic origins of all individuals and to their religious beliefs and sexual orientation.
