My Specialisms

I am able to work with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement, low self-esteem, the debilitating effects of a physical illness, or just have a longing for greater satisfaction and fulfilment in your life. No problem is too small to be taken seriously and to benefit from being listened to with empathy and compassion. Developing a trusting relationship with a therapist can support you to gain autonomy and a sense of personal empowerment.
I can work with individuals, couples and families. I am an experienced group facilitator and regularly run creative therapy groups.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

The first meeting will be an information gathering session to assess your particular needs and to identify the issues you might want to work on. Following that we will arrange to meet weekly or fortnightly with regular review sessions built in.
Sessions last for a full hour. The number of sessions will vary according to individual need.
What Might be Involved?
Sessions will involve talking and exploring the issues that are relevant to you. I may also offer the choice to work creatively using art materials, writing, small objects, role play or work with dreams. The aim would be to support you to explore your issues further, develop awareness and understanding of your life situation and build a relationship to your unique inner world. Meditation can bring a quietness to the mind and help to focus attention on your needs in the present. Over a period of time therapy can help to unravel the unhelpful patterns of behaviour you have created in your life, to enable a freer expression of yourself and more fulfilling relationships to develop.
I also run therapy groups involving psychodrama and other creative methods.
