I am a registered psychotherapist with the UK Council of Psychotherapy, and a Chartered Psychologist in the British Psychological Society. I am a psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer in the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy. I was trained in the NHS between 1992 and 1997. I have worked for many years also as an organisational psychologist helping people at work, and training and coaching managers and their teams. BA in History and BSc in Psychology.
My core training is in Cognitive Analytic Therapy, which integrates the best practices of the psychodynamic tradition and cognitive behavioural psychology. This is a time limited therapy developed in the NHS over the last 30 years and is now widely practised.
I have also trained as a person-centred counsellor, in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR which is particularly useful for post-traumatic stress.
I am an accredited supervisor and trainer in psychotherapy.
I follow the principles of the Cognitive Analytic model: building a collaborative, honest, human relationship and empowering my clients to participate actively in their own change. The pace of the therapy and the number and frequency of sessions is tailored to client needs, readiness and circumstances.
