Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
I trained at Northern Guild which is a BACP & UKCP accredited training course and gained a Diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling. I am also a registered member BACP which means I work in accordance with the ethical framework they set out.
I have worked in various GP practices over the last 3 years as well as private practice seeing a diverse range of clients with various presenting issues including the below.
Anxiety and depression
Work related stress
For you to get the most out of counselling it is important you get the right counsellor for you. I am happy to have a short call with you and answer any questions you might have. After that we would arrange a first session where we can get to know each other and talk about what will be best for you. You can then decide if this is right for you or not. If you wanted to continue then I would usually look to start with 8 sessions and see how it goes from there with regular reviews to check how the process is for you.
The counselling process gives you a private space where you can externalise the internal thoughts you may have been having, giving you room to process them. It is my belief that we all know what is best for ourselves and that we can make the changes we want in order to feel happier or more content. I also know it is hard to work out what is best for us and how to change how we feel and my role is to support you through this without casting judgement or telling you what to do.
I am trained as an integrative relational counsellor which means I can mix various models to meet your needs. These models include transactional analysis, person centred and creative methods.
Everybody is different and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another, so I tailor my approach to suit your needs.
The fee is £45 for 50 minute session.
