I am a qualified counsellor with a post graduate diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling. I am also a member of the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling, a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, and a part-time tutor with a counselling college. I regularly attend continuing professional development (CPD) training courses and events in order to advance my learning.
My early career was spent in the business world when I worked and lived in many countries and cultures overseas. Before I completed my counselling training I worked for ten years with organisations in England and Scotland providing homes for families who had previously been homeless.
Some examples of the issues which have brought clients to see me include: stress and anxiety; depression; feelings of hopelessness; relationship problems; bereavement; self development issues; work and career issues; loss; sexual abuse; emotional abuse; physical abuse; spiritual development; low self esteem; drug and alcohol misuse; chronic illness; adoption issues; anger management: emotional trauma; compulsive behaviour.
Clients have described my counselling style as creating a gentle tranquil space in their lives where they feel heard and understood, and where it feels safe for them to explore and resolve their deepest fears and anxieties.
The type of counselling therapy I offer seeks to consider the whole person - mind, body and spirit. My work is essentially person centred but recognises that the quality of the therapeutic relationship (rather than any individual theoretical orientation), is the most important aspect of successful therapeutic work. In other words, depending on a client's needs, I may draw on a variety of approaches, including psychodynamic and transpersonal psychology.

If you feel that one to one counselling may be helpful then please call or text me on 07508 105 998 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an introductory meeting. I will always do my best to reply the same day, or at least within 24 hours. There is no charge for the first meeting. If you decide to proceed with counselling after the first meeting then we will agree a time and date for you to start your counselling. Sessions are normally scheduled weekly at the same time each week. I offer short term counselling which usually lasts for between six and eighteen weeks. Longer term counselling is also available. Low cost sessions are available for anyone who is unable to afford the full price.
