My Specialisms

EMDR for Trauma and PTSD (including complex trauma and multiple trauma)
EMDR for Pain (Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).

EMDR is now recognised as a recommended treatment by NICE in their guidance for working with veterans with PTSD. The research evidence for EMDR shows that it is a very effective treatment for severe Trauma, traumatic life events, PTSD, excessive anxiety including panic attacks, and clients presenting with pain such as Fibromyalgia, MUS, and Psychosomatic disorders (the body's physiological response to stress).

EMDR is now being widely recognised as an effective treatment for reducing debilitating effects of all types of Pain in the body.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

A service is provided to clients presenting with Depression, Stress, PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety, Phobias and Panic Attacks, Relationship breakdown and work related stress within a safe supportive and confidential setting.

EMDR Qualified Practitioner : Please contact me if you have experienced distress following a Psychological Trauma. A Psychological Trauma can occur when you have experienced either a single event or long lasting / repeated events that are so overwhelming that it affects your ability to cope or make sense of what happened.

Examples of traumatic events include:
* Serious accidents, RTA (road traffic accident), collision
* Loss and grief
* Physical, emotional, sexual abuse
* Neglect, Deprivation
* Victim of Bullying or Stalking
* Natural or man made disasters
* Being taken hostage

Psychological support in the form of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and/or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-TF) can be very effective in helping people with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), the name given to describe symptoms of distress following a traumatic event.

The NICE Guidelines recommend that "All PTSD sufferers should be offered a course of trauma-focused psychological treatment (trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy or eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) regardless of the time that has elapsed since the trauma" (NICE, 2016 and
