Kate Kate Bowler EMDR

Kate Kate Bowler
EMDR Practitioner in Surbiton

I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor working with individuals and groups. We can explore together what your needs are and consider the best options for you.

Whatever your reason for accessing therapy, we can discuss during an initial appointment, and you can decide if you would like further sessions. Therapy can be useful to help with many common aspects of life, such as depression and anxiety, among many others. It can be an opportunity to find a way to explore difficult experiences that happen to all of us in life, in a non-judgmental setting. I am an integrative therapist, which means I can adapt to best suit your needs.

I specialise in trauma and have extensive experience within the NHS, Rape Crisis and other voluntary sector organisations. I contribute to conferences and trainings and ongoing research.

"Kate is great, I really cannot recommend her highly enough.

Her calm, gentle manner always makes the sessions a very welcome break from everyday life, but it's been her really perceptive and caring guidance and nudging that has made a real difference. For possibly the first time, I have some things I can apply by myself and that help me truly manage my anxiety & fears.

Eighteen months ago, when I began seeing Kate I was really suffering quite a bit from anxiety both at home and work. As of now, I feel more calm, more able to live with and manage my anxiety and feelings of dread, much more positive, and really able to look forward. Life has more hope than it's had for a good while. I can't thank her enough. She's just great.

"Following PTSD from a car accident I was unable to get back into the car and wanted to try anything to make it work. I came across PTSD therapy and Kate and was a bit hesitant at first because I didn't think it would work. After six sessions I went from refusing car journeys to being able to off road drive, be a comfortable passenger and even hitch hike! I found the therapy difficult but ultimately very rewarding because it has completely changed my life. Kate was professional, picked up on small details and I would highly recommend her as a therapist. "

"Kate's empathy and professionalism have been invaluable. Using a combination of academic and human approaches, Kate has given me the tools and perspective that I needed to deal with several personal issues that were affecting my family life.
Thanks to Kate I now lead a much happier and fulfilling family life.
