Homeopath in Shrewsbury

I am homeopathic practitioner and have been qualified since 1996. I am registered with the Society of Homeopaths.
I have also been a registered nurse since 1990.
I have three children, continue to nurse part time and I have a large and varied homeopathic practice, often seeing whole families.  I attend regular continuous professional development (CPD) days in order to keep up to date and to share the experiences of other homeopaths. I never stop learning about homeopathy it has so much to offer!
I work at the Natural Health Centre along side other therapists in Shrewsbury and from my home.

Background & Qualifications

Having qualified as a nurse in London in 1990, I realized that I wanted to be able to look after people in a more holistic way. I searched for an alternative medicine to study. I went to a wonderful talk by homeopath Francis Treuherz and decided that was what I wanted to do! So I commenced a 4 year course at The College of Homeopathy, London in 1992 and qualified in 1996.
In 1997 I studied in Calcutta and was taught by world class homeopaths such as Dr. Subrata K. Banerjea.
I worked in London until I moved to Shrewsbury in 2002 where I now work.

My Specialisms

I am a family homeopath and often the Mother brings the children along first, then the Mother makes an appointment for herself and finally the Father comes to see me!

Bowel problems in adults and children.
And many others.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

My philosophy.
I believe we need to treat the whole person because if we don't then we're not treating the cause of the "dis-ease".
The body can produce symptoms in order to re balance itself when stressed or "dis-eased". If these are simply suppressed it can lead to further imbalance and an increase of symptoms.
Homeopathy works with the body's natural defences with the aim of strengthening its resistance. By giving a remedy that produces similar symptoms (in a healthy person), it reduces the need for the production of symptoms.

The Sensation Method.
Although I am a classically trained homeopath, one of the methods I use to find the remedy is the Sensation Method.
I find out which kingdom the patient is expressing themselves in because mineral, animal or plant remedies express themselves in different ways, with different symptoms and this helps me to find the correct remedy.
The sensation method is about finding the deepest level of expression of the disease within the patient. Rather than just looking at symptoms I am looking for a pattern which is deep within.
One of the benefits of using this method is that the patient does not need to tell me details of something that happened to them in the past , of course they can if they feel they need to but I am looking at how the whole being expresses itself and with gentle questioning I aim to get to the sensation level. Often this process of questioning is the first part of healing from within.
I offer skype appointments to people all over the world.
