I come originally from a commercial background: first Advertising and then Market Research. I then trained as a Soul Therapist and spiritual healer before my fascination with the workings of the mind and the brain led me to train as a hypnotherapist. I have now been working in private practice for over ten years.

Since emotional difficulties, unwanted habits, addictions and phobias are all manifestations of emotional pain, my clients come with a very wide range of presenting problems, including chronic illness. My approach is to help my clients deal with the underlying emotional triggers and release the blocks and needs over which they find they have little control. It is normal for emotional pain to find expression in this variety of ways, and I follow the Human Givens model of understanding that if our (human species-wide) innate emotional needs are not being met, we will struggle, but once we start to access our innate tools and skills to meet those needs, we can start to thrive.
I use Regression, following body memory to trace the origins of painful and limiting feelings blocking my clients' lives, to release and heal those early life experiences. Do call me to find out more about how this works.
I have made a special study of pain and pain control mechanisms and have a programme (created with a GP) to teach skills to clients with chronic pain to help them control their experience of pain sensations so they no longer dominate their lives.
For clients who wish to continue working with their minds once our immediate session goals have been achieved, I teach self-hypnosis skills including very brief and powerful techniques to create a deeply relaxing session which can be carried out in just a couple of minutes.
I offer a free introductory consultation of up to half an hour, usually by phone or Skype so that potential clients can find out more about how I work, and so I can assess whether what I offer may be able to help them achieve their goals. This can also be face to face, of course.
I would then discuss with each client which approach to use and we would work together, agreeing goals and assessing progress as we go. I generally find that just a few sessions can create significant progress, so it is impossible to predict how many sessions may be needed. My aim is always to use as few as possible.
