Jean Carpenter MAR mBANT DipCNM CNHC
Before working in the health and well being sector, Jean was a full time primary school teacher. She received regular complementary therapy during this time which she found helped her to sustain optimum health and energy through till the end of term. She developed her interest by training in Gentle Touch TM Reflexology with the Sue Ricks School of Complementary Therapies in Loughborough and she has been working as a reflexologist since 2003. Since then she has trained in Indian Head Massage, Reiki, and Ear Candling. In 2005 she trained with the College of Naturopathic Medicine and gained a diploma in Nutritional Therapy.
She is registered with: Association of Reflexologists (AOR), British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), Nutritional Therapy Council and the Complementary Therapy and Natural Health Council (CNHC)
Jean has a particular interest in women's health, supporting especially through peri-menopause and menopause and offers a combination of Reflexology and Nutrition combined to help women through these particular phases in their life.
However, she is happy to welcome anyone who feels that they might benefit from any of the therapies she offers and sees people from all walks of life who may need some time out and one to one support to improve well being and counteract the effect of stresses and strains of busy lives.
Jean also offers Lorisian Food Intolerance Tests for those people who are suffering from on going symptoms which they feel could be a reaction to something they are eating. Lorisian Food Intolerance Tests analyse your blood sample for food specific IgG antibody reactions. This means that an individual can quickly and simply find out what they may be reacting to, which will enable them to eliminate those specific foods from their diet. Even though food intolerance symptoms may not be life threatening, they can make an individual feel unwell and consequently can have an impact on quality of life. For more information about the test go to the website www.jcarpentertherapies.com
Whatever the therapy the session always starts with a health questionnaire including medical history and a general chat about symptoms, health goals and expectations. It is important to emphasise that as a holistic practitioner Jean can support the whole person, promote well being, give nutritional and life style advice to support but she does not diagnose or claim to cure. Anything discussed within the session is totally confidential and records are held secure.
