I started my career in the health industry initially as a pharmaceutical chemist, becoming interested in a natural approach to healthcare after being ill during pregnancy and finding that conventional medicine was very limited in what it could offer. I then qualified as a reflexologist in 1989 and my interest in natural health care spread to include reiki, nutrition and kinesiology. I trained as a Classical Kinesiologist qualifying in 1998 and have also done training in Health Kinesiology, Kinergetics and Brain Gym and other modalities. I have also added High Touch Acupressure (Jin Shin) and Vortex Healing to my therapeutic techniques. I am continually updating and adding to my skills, knowledge and experience as a therapist.
As a therapist for 30 years I offer a truly holistic approach, looking at all aspects of a persons health, not only addressing structural, environmental and nutritional needs but also helping the release of emotional stress. I enjoy working with clients and love seeing how much they benefit from the treatments in all sorts of ways.
I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) and the Kinesiology Federation (KF). I served on the Policy Board for the KF for 6 years as part of Training Standards group ensuring that all our members have had good quality training that meets the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for kinesiology.
When you are constantly under pressures for different reasons - work, home life, families, internet, fitting everything in becomes a minefield, our adrenals become overworked and depleted, so after a while our bodies start to exhibit signs of stress:
insomnia, anxiety, agitation, irritation, tiredness, fatigue, allergies, skin breakouts, eating/drinking/smoking too much, constant colds, headaches, migraines, back aches and joint pains, IBS, acid reflux....
Long term these problems worsen and become part of every day life, adding to the stress the body is already creaking under.
Kinesiology will help break this pattern. a treatment programme can help you with the physical problems, help with the emotional responses to stress, help you respond differently, so changing behavioural patterns too.
i have recently introduced the Vagal Protocol which works to tone the vagus nerve. This has a profound effect on the parasympathetic nervous system, aiming to bring about rest, relaxation and regeneration in the body.
I see a lot of clients with digestive health problems, chronic fatigue, menopausal issues, depleted immune system, migraines, anxiety and other stress related conditions to help them regain their health & vitality.
