Massage Therapist in Loughborough

During my life I have had many different jobs in many places (my husband was in the Armed Forces). It took me a long time to find what I really wanted to do and at something I was good at. With a lot of trepidation on my part (especially at this time when Massage was still not really thought of as a career) I took the plunge and went for it. I started practicing as a Sports & Remedial. Masseur in October 1995, following a course taken earlier in the year. Having recently moved to Loughborough was lucky enough to get a position at the University, who didn't at that time have a therapist. I worked with their 1st Teams in 7 different sports where my skills and abilities grew quickly in that environment.

1997 I started my own Company (Active Recovery) whilst still working for the University, and by 2000 moved from the University into the town starting my own clinic, and haven't looked back since. My career in Sport, working at GB Level in both Athletics and Swimming from 1995 to 2005 was not only enlightening but also enjoyable, and I not only gained great knowledge and abilities, but enjoyed the experience no end. The Company celebrated its 20year Anniversary this March, and, 22years later I am still doing what I love and helping people into the bargain.

Background & Qualifications

Like a lot of young females at the time after completing school I went to work in ofices, which I did (on and off) for many years. I always liked to stay active and in the 1980's qualified as a Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer/Weight Training Coach, with the aim of helping people become more body aware and fitter. During the 1990's, I decided to attend a Sports Massage Course with the aim of giving relief to my clients tired and sore muscles (should they need it) follow their training sessions.

Qualified in 1995 with Sports & Remedial Massage Diploma - 1997 attended a Sports & Remedial Advanced Techniques Diploma Course, and have continuedg throughout my career with CPD workshops and courses to develop my skills. 2003 became a Tutor on Sports & Remedial Massage Courses.
