I have been a practising Audiologist since 2003 and am registered with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser. I am taking the part-time MSc in Rehabilitative Audiology at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Since qualifying, I have taken further training in tinnitus treatment, deep canal impression techniques, ear wax removal using microsuction and endoscopic ear wax removal.
I have worked in the NHS as a Senior Audiologist, and while I found NHS work challenging and rewarding, it was frustrating in equal measure due to the limited technology in the "free" hearing aids that are available on the NHS. I therefore chose to work as an Independent, as with the whole of the hearing aid market available to myself and my clients, I can recommend the latest high-tech hearing solutions that are tailor made to the exact requirements of each client.
Private ear wax removal using microsuction
Endoscopic ear wax removal
Deep canal impressions for invisible hearing aids
Fitting of discreet / invisible hearing aids
Being a hearing aid wearer and tinnitus sufferer myself, I know how important the sense of hearing is to my clients. My approach is always cautious, and if the ear wax is too hard, I will recommend that patients apply Earol for a week before returning to finish the procedure, so that the procedure can be carried out comfortably
