Approach to Mindfulness & How I Work

The relationship is important in counselling. I believe that clients know what they want and have the ability to change to meet this need. I use a combination of theories to help clients understand what has influenced who they are and why they think and feel the way they do.
The majority of my work is based on the clients own experiences and I use ideas from existential psychotherapy to explore the meaning we give these experiences.
I also use attachment theory and psychodynamic ideas to interpret how our relationships with our care givers might be impacting on our adult relationships and behaviours.

I recommend that if you wish to work with me you give me a ring 0741 9324764 or email emmadunn@insightfulness.co.uk and we can arrange an initial meeting. Here I can explain how I work and answer any concerns you may have. You will be given the opportunity to talk about your issues and I will ask some questions to help clarify what we can do together. This appointment lasts about 60mins and I charge £30.00
