Approach to Therapy & How I Work

My work is centred on the CBT model of therapy therefore treatment plans are collaboratively drafted around a formulation which is evidence based and compliant with the NICE guidelines.
My approach is manly behavioural and strongly based on a therapeutic alliance between therapist and client.
Clients are encouraged to carry out exercises or activities in between session as integral part of CBT.
I comply by a Code of Ethics (BABCP) and if necessary I work in close collaboration with other professionals such as psychiatrists, mental health nurses, and General Practitioners.
My private practice prevents me from working with client who present risk issues towards themselves or other.
