Sam Goddard, Principal of The Devon School of Reiki

I have been working with Reiki for the past 15 years in both a teaching and therapeutic capacity. I have spent many years working with Musicians (as Tour Manager for Bat for Lashes) both on the road and at home, using Reiki as a tool to help with stress, focus and performance. Before becoming a Partner at The Reiki Institute back in 2001, I had a corporate background in Human Resource & Event Management. It was whilst I was working in Corporate America that I decided I wanted to explore an alternative and more holistic approach to people and life management. After discovering Reiki on my return from the States, it very quickly grew from an interest to a passion and has remained so to this day. Over the years, I have trained in a number of holistic therapies and pride myself in offering excellent all round holistic care for mind, body & soul.

I am also a qualified Stress Adviser and run workshops in Stress Management for both individuals & corporates and am a partner in the Exeter Natural Health Centre's Wellbeing at Work Programme.

My Specialisms

My son was the inspiration behind Reiki Rascals, as I found Reiki to be an invaluable tool during and after my pregnancy. I therefore set up Reiki Rascals to empower families & individuals through pregnancy, birth & beyond. Introducing them to holistic techniques & ideas for use in every day life. I am passionate about teaching Mums & Mums-to-be about Reiki and how they can use it for themselves, in the home and with their children. Also to teach children to learn to embrace their natural openness and life connection in order to harness their energy in a positive and constructive manner. I am also actively working to introduce the idea of energy awareness and training into the childcare sector and schools.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

Today, my focus is on continuing to grow the Devon School of Reiki, as well as my own Reiki experience, holistic skills and spiritual path. Thus, to ensure the delivery of the highest quality Usui Reiki Training & Treatments to all of our students & clients.

As well as teaching Reiki, the therapies I offer include individual Reiki Sessions, Reiki Massage, Full Body Massage, Indian Head Massage & Intuitive Healing sessions. I am a qualified massage therapist & I study and practise Mindfulness techniques and CBT and often combine my skills to offer an all-round holistic solution for individuals and families alike.
