Hi, I specialise in helping people to find solutions, increase their options to and help them to solve their personal challenges, issues and problems.

I use Hypnotherapy, Coaching, NLP, Kinetic Shift Protocol, Symbolism and The Swan Protocol depending on the individuals needs. My Goal - Keeping it Simple, Getting Results, help people get the life and results they want, using whatever tools are at our disposal.

I am "solution focused", and many of the methods I use do not require us to delve into the past and "re-live" past troubles and traumas at length. In fact, in a few techniques I don't even need to know or discuss what "the problem" is at all. Instead we focus on how you want to feel and be instead. "Getting rid of" and "letting go" of unwanted or no longer useful behaviours, feelings or responses.

What to expect...

The initial session will last 60-90 minutes. It's your opportunity to ask questions, find out more and to share with me any information you wish to tell me about your issues or challenges. It's an opportunity to meet and get to know each other to make sure we are both happy to work with one another. During the first session, I usually will provide you with some exercises or techniques to help begin your change, and we'll discuss the different methods and techniques open to us and which may best suit you. We'll also do some initial hypnosis and suggestibility work.

The Second session, is usually an hour. I prefer this session to be about 7-10 days after the first session, as this allows your own momentum to already to build and change to start to happen. Usually people are already noticing a measurable improvement in their feelings or situation. At the second session, we'll review your progress so far and perform some "change work" based on the options we discussed in the initial session.

Further Sessions? After the second session, again 7-10 days later, I'll get in touch to see how you are progressing. For most people by this point they have, made enough progress, and have enough forward momentum, that they are happy to continue without a further session. Some request a personal mp3 or I may recommend a personal mp3 to reinforce and continue the work done in our sessions to keep you moving forward.

If you wish further sessions, that's ok too, but in the nicest possible way, I always hope and you should to, that the last time I see you is the last time I see you!

Background & Qualifications

I initially studied Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy in the 1990's before studying to qualify as an Audiologist.

Following 13 years in Audiology, I found myself looking for new challenges and once again turned towards the world of the mind, and mental performance.

I am a Certified and Accredited Hypnotherapist & NLP Master Practitioner Coach, NLP Master Practitioner Coach, A Mindfulness Coach, Kinetic Shift & Swan Protocol Practitioner, and am continuing my own development, currently studying for an additional diploma in mindfulness based cognitive behavioural therapy.

I am a member of:

BAThH - British Association of Therapeutic Hypnotists & NLP Practitioners

I am based just outside Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and am fully Enhanced DBS/CRB checked and Insured.

I also work within the world of motorsport, with experience in working in series such as F1, BRDC F4, Renault Clio Cup UK, British Superbikes, WSBK World Supersport, and Karting helping develop and strengthen mental skills.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

The most common questions I get asked:

Q1. How many appointments will I need?

This is the most common question - "how many sessions do I need, or how long will it take."

I usually advise that it could take unto 3 or 4 sessions, although the more normally is transpires to be your initial appointment plus one full session. Appointments vary in length. Some will be an hour, others can stretch to 90 minutes to 2 hours.

It's important that by the end of the first appointment, you see a way forward and really feel change is possible, then in your first full session, we do some "change work".

I want people to find their own momentum and both have and feel the control they have in their lives. By the end of the first full session (the second session) most people have this. Some I never see again after this, but I will always "follow up" to see how you're are progressing.

Q2. What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a pleasant, relaxed state of increased concentration and focus. Hypnosis is a way of "talking" to the subconscious mind, and it can occur at many levels, from "eyes open" suggestion to light trance to deep trance.

Q3. I don't think I can be hypnotised / I don't believe in hypnosis

Hypnosis is a state. It is measurable in an EEG and also fMRI scans, it also has outward physical signs.

If someone doesn't want to be hypnotised, they won't. Simple as that. However, if you come to see me (a hypnotist) we can assume you are at least open to the possibility. Hypnosis can develop over time so we may start with some suggestion tests and light trance. Over the next sessions, your ability to achieve a deeper sense of hypnosis usually improves.

Hypnosis is not something to "believe" in. It is a state. It is not a state that can fully be defined, but belief is not required. A desire to change and willingness to accept the hypnotic process is.

Some people are more susceptible to hypnosis than others. Some people will go easier into hypnosis. This is something we will test at the first session, although by seeking hypnotherapy, most people are engaged and willing.

Q4. Is Hypnotherapy Effective?

Although results cannot be guaranteed, during our sessions, we will establish goals and criteria to measure your success and how you will know when you have achieved your successful outcome. All people are different and you will need a positive desire to change.
