, Nutritional Therapist in Birmingham
My journey into the world of Nutrition started when I was studying at university and struggling with extremely low energy. At the same time, I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome by my GP who prescribed me medications to take for 'as long as needed'. These medications never worked, I was still feeling sluggish, bloated and unhealthy and I became more and more frustrated not to feel any better.
This frustration motivated me to read everything I could on the subject of gut health and energy! The more I learned about the power of foods and herbs, the more I became fascinated and astonished at how little I knew about nutrition... which I now believe to be the first and oldest medicine of the world!
In 2015, this passion for nutrition led me to start my studies at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London. I graduated from CNM in 2018 and joined at the same time the Clinical Nutrition Team of a leading professional supplement company, where I provide support to fellow Nutritional Therapists and customers around the country, write experts comments for magazines, and contribute to the writing of professional resources.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work
As a Nutritional Therapist, I believe that nutrients found in food provide the raw material for your body to function and be healthy. By addressing nutritional imbalances, correcting unhealthy eating habits and 'unnatural' lifestyles, I support your body to rest, heal and find its balance again.
I consider each individual to be unique and I provide personalised nutrition and lifestyle recommendations rather than a ‘one size fits all' approach. I don't believe in quick fixes, trendy diets, and restrictions. Instead, I believe in positive, small steps leading to long-lasting changes.

Additional Rate Information
During this initial consultation, I will give you an explanation of your current symptoms and health concerns, linking them to your medical history and current diet/lifestyle. Because I believe knowledge is key and I want my clients to feel empowered, I always make sure they leave my consultation room with a better understanding of their body. You will also leave with a few action points and will be sent a more detailed plan within 3 days of the consultation, which will include: - A summary of your main symptoms and the possible drivers behind it. - A plan with food and lifestyle recommendations. This can include foods to include and remove from your diet, food alternatives, recipes, shopping list... I will explain the reasoning of each of my recommendations, so you can understand better how they can benefit your health (remember, knowledge is power!). - Dietary supplements (where necessary) - If required: recommendation of functional testing, referrals to your GP or other practitioners (acupuncturist, reflexologist...)
