Ashley Horsley
Psychotherapist in London

Psychotherapy is the talking cure but you have to find the right person to talk to. Whatever your troubles, I am extremely good to talk to. I have the passion, I have the patience, I have the skills and I have the experience that you need to feel you are in the right place to get the help you crave to get back on track with your life.
If you are feeling that you are stuck, or that your relationship with your partner, or your work, or indeed your relationship with being alive, feels less than you long for it to be, then I can help. I am an experienced and well-qualified psychotherapist dedicated to working with you to examine where things have gone wrong; and how to rectify the wrong-ness and get you back on track. I understand that the most important thing in a person's life is their own sense of meaningfulness - often in times of crisis this meaningfulness eludes us and we feel lost and bewildered, or angry and resentful, or trapped and afraid. I believe in the power of collaboration and perspective - both bring you to a new awareness and sense of empowerment; both relieve you from feeling isolated and alone; both help you to rewrite the narrative of your own life so that it is more authentically your own.

I have an Honours Degree in Psychology; a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology; and a Post-Masters Diploma in Existential Counselling Psychology. Approach to Psychotherapy & How I Work

I work with you on a one-to-one basis in weekly or twice-weekly sessions. I create a safe, non-judgemental, warm environment in which you can begin to unfold your story. Together we work out what does not feel acceptable to you and begin to make the changes vital for your well-being. It is not my job to tell you what to do, but to use my experience and understanding to bring you confidence and perspective that in turn enables you to decide which changes you need to make. Sometimes it is enough to simply have a witness to your story; other times the work is more complicated as together we explore new territory; excavate what is buried; examine what has been hidden in a corner for some time; coax out the voice that has been whispering, unheard, in your head for too long.
