Lesley Haswell Psychotherapy

Lesley Haswell
Psychotherapist in London

I'm an experienced therapist who aims to listen actively and practice with honesty and compassion. My purpose is not to judge: rather, to seek to clarify and illuminate your concerns by engaging in a frank and questioning dialogue. An analytic yet caring relationship is what our clients find most helpful.

Finally, I aim to work for you and with you. You choose whether to introduce a life experience maybe never before discussed with anyone. You choose whether to try any particular technique or approach.

Together we explore what you find helpful and therapeutic; we recognise that only when you truly feel our relationship is respectful, confidential and understanding will you achieve what you hope for in therapy.

My Specialisms

I am an experienced qualified psychotherapist. I work mainly with individuals both long and short term. My clients come from many walks of life and many backgrounds, and I love the richness of the variety. Having said that, we all share so much in what it is to be human and share so many of the same struggles, hopes and dreams. I don't change my clients, though many do choose to change themselves as a result of our work, but seek to help them live with something differently.

I work with existential therapy and CBT, both of which focus on how we are living now.

I'm currently studying a supervision course in line with BACP/UKCP guidelines. I can therefore offer half price for upto a year for anyone needing reduced cost supervision.

Approach to Psychotherapy & How I Work

My clients come with many issues. Anxiety, depression, relationships, fertility, addiction and phobias are frequent. Some have had accidents at work; are in violent domestic relationships or have been abused as a child or as an adult. Some have been bereaved or are struggling with the end of a key relationship. Some are concerned about the choices they are making from work to relationships. Some find living with an alcoholic partner or an ill child challenging. Some are puzzled why they are angry at work or find it difficult to sleep.

It can be tough as well as wonderful, to be human, and I hope to work with my clients in a human way.
