My experience is varied but a lot of people come to me suffering with depression, anxiety, grief from bereavement or loss, low self-esteem, anger, divorce, confusion, relationship problems, stress (from family, workplace, unemployment or financial problems). You may want to find a solution or to make deeper changes in yourself. I have worked with teachers, teaching assistants, doctors and nurses, housewives and househusbands, solicitors, brokers, business people, parents, grand-parents, independent trades people, young people, and small family groups. It's also ok to come if you don't exactly know what is happening for you but just want to talk a few things through.
I offer careful listening to whatever you need to talk about, and I'm interested in the meaning your situation holds for you. I'm attentive to whatever is causing you concern and curious about how you are coping and what you feel you need. I will respond to you by reflecting on what I hear. Any choices you make are yours. I respect your process, which, is unique to you. Our conversation is created together. It's a good sign if you feel comfortable with me. Often people leave with a sense of relief that they are moving forward. You choose your direction and pace. If these feel difficult for you, I can assist you sorting through what matters first. I don't make people dependent on me. I respect when you wish to finish. It's a privilege to listen and I keep what I hear confidential (excepting legal requirements about endangering lives of others).
