Approach to Relationship Therapy & How I Work

I believe we possess the inner strength to find our own path to a more fulfilling life, heightened self awareness and a fuller sense of self worth. I practise an Integrative approach to counselling calling on Person-centred*, Psychodynamic** and Cognitive-Behavioural*** therapy models enabling more clarity, insight and honesty in your personal life and helping to find a more positive and appropriate way forward.
The quality of the counsellor/client relationship is key to bringing about change. I offer a safe, confidential environment and an open, non judgmental approach allowing my clients to feel comfortable to reveal thoughts and feelings, perhaps previously unheard.

It is often through the empathy and understanding offered that they are finally able to hear their own voice and reflect by looking on life with a new perspective.
My experience has given me the privilege of witnessing firsthand how we can and do access our own natural healing process successfully.

Person-centred:*
Person centred therapy provides the opportunity to develop a sense of self, where you can realise how your attitudes, feelings and behaviours are being negatively affected.

Psychodynamic Therapy:**
Psychodynamic therapy focusses on revealing the unconscious thoughts and feelings that influence you. It emphasises the importance of exploring your past to illuminate the way forward.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT):***
CBT addresses negative thought patterns that affect how you feel and behave. It is focused in the 'here and now' and may involve goal setting for the future. The emphasis is on positive thinking and avoidance of becoming stuck in self defeating patterns of thoughts and behaviour.
