, Relationship Therapist, Sex Therapist - London
As a psychosexual therapist I offer an empathetic and safe contained environment within which clients and I can work together to facilitate the potential for change. As sexual problems can be hard to talk about for both individuals and couples the impact can span into other aspects of life and relationships, and so psychosexual therapy can offer a judgment free space in which to have those conversations.
I work integratively with an understanding that psychosexual issues are not just purely physical dysfunctions but also both psychological and emotional. Depending on the issue and situation sessions can be attended by both individuals and couples. Common issues include :
Loss of desire and arousal difficulties
Erectile or ejaculation problems such as rapid or delayed ejaculation
Reducing anxiety around sex, relationships and intimacy
Sexual abuse or assault
Sexual health issues
Sexual orientation questions or insecurities
Dyspareunia (pain during intercourse)
Orgasmic or anorgasmic problems
Sexual phobias or aversions

Approach to Therapy & How I Work
I work with individuals of all sexual orientations, and both same and different sex couple relationships.
Initially we will discuss the history and client's personal understanding of the problem, and during this assessment we will determine whether there is perhaps need for intervention or further investigation from a GP, Sexual Health Screening, Urologist or Gynaecologist.
We will take a personal history and create a treatment plan for going forward with regular review sessions to determine how the work is going. The sessions involve the security of the therapeutic relationship supporting the work using self-help tools, practical exercises to be done at home, sexual education, and increasing sexual self-confidence and comfort in sexuality or sexual relationships.
As I work integratively we will be looking to understand the problem in the context of social, cultural and family beliefs as all of these will have impact on how one knows and understands their sexuality and psychosexual health as an individual, and as a member of couple.
