I have a Master's Degree in Language Pathology, having graduated from the University of Reading in 1996. I am registered with the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Association of SLTs in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) and the Health & Care Professions Council, and have an up-do-date DBS (formerly CRB) clearance.
My main area of expertise is in acquired & progressive neurology - Stroke & Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease, MS, MND, PSP, MSA, Guillain Barre and others. I also have an interest in Dysfluency (stammering/stuttering) and Gender Transition work.
I use a client-led approach and I work holistically. This means I consider you as a person, with a full life, and aim to help you to target treatment where it will most make a difference. I will take note of the psychological impact of your condition and what areas you are most motivated to change or improve. I also try not to be too 'heavy' - I believe that working with a smile is nearly always helpful.
