Sports Therapist in Aylesbury

I have worked in sports and leisure all my life and have always been interested in the body and maintaining good health. I have my own private treatment room at home and work various hours to work around my children and be available for my clients, often hectic lifestyles. I enjoy a challenge and get great satisfaction when someone walks out of my treatment room feeling so much better than they did when they first entered.

Background & Qualifications

I have been working as a Therapist since 2001 and during that time I have continuously trained every year to improve my knowledge and skills. My treatments are adapted to everyone's personal needs, whether it is a relaxing, distressing massage or a pain relief treatment. As I have found for most people a treatment that does both is required so I use various techniques to achieve this.

My Specialisms

I am very dedicated and passionate about my work and always put my clients first.

I specialise in pain relief and relaxing treatments. Not all aches and pains come from sport activities. Stress and anxiety also put a lot of strain on the body as does working conditions such as sitting for long periods of time, repetitive work, manual work etc.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

I think it's important to listen to what a client has to say and wants to achieve. I will go through a consultation form to determine what is safe and achievable with what I have to offer. I take into account their past and present lifestyle to determine the cause of their ailment. There's always a reason for a problem and identifying that can go a long way from preventing a re occurrence.

I work with a client during a treatment, explaining the muscles I'm working on, why they refer pain to other parts of the body and why then other muscles are then effected etc. I find clients like this information as it helps them to understand why they are in pain With feed back from the client I can keep the treatment to a comfort level that is tolerable which in turn achieves greater results.

At the end of a treatment if the client wishes to do so we would discuss ways of improving or preventing further issues whether it be exercise, diet, postural positions at work or home etc.
