At certain moments in life, what we need most is a shift in perspective.
Not necessarily answers, but a wider lens — one that helps us understand ourselves with more compassion, context, and choice. Over the years, I’ve found that altered-state therapeutic approaches, including hypnotherapy and regression-based work, can offer exactly this kind of perspective shift. They invite the subconscious to speak in images, sensations, and stories, often revealing insights that feel both deeply personal and surprisingly practical.

This idea of perspective shifts comes to mind after going through a past life regression recently. These sessions can feel like an inner journey across time, memory, and symbolic experience. I have been lucky to have had many sessions over the years, usually in transitory phases between life chapters or when feeling disconnected from my own internal guidance or trampled on by life circumstances. The integration of past gifts into my being, or the letting go of emotions long over but still held in my soul’s field, unfurls over days, weeks, months, years after a session. The impressions and lessons follow me, popping into my mindspace gently at the perfect moment.

This session I land in the late 1800’s, it’s probably London, I’m a seamstress in a small shop off a high street. My first impressions are the texture of a dark, olive green tweed hunting outfit that I’m adjusting for a bossy, scattered man with jagged, jumpy energy. Even after many sessions I’m always amazed that this works, that I’m able to time travel again, and that the picture builds and solidifies and deepens until helpful insight unfolds gently.

Growing up, conversations about consciousness and soul journeys were part of my family landscape, though I resisted them for a long time out of a desire to be ‘normal’.

Today I can say that past life regressions (or quantum healing hypnosis sessions - the name of the method I predominantly practice) have helped me enormously on so many levels and in a broad spectrum of ways. I’m grateful to my grandfather and mother who did this work before me and tilled the soil so that today I am able to do this work in a time that is more ready and open to the fruits that it bears.

While these experiences can be profound, what matters most to me as a practitioner is how they translate into everyday life — into emotional regulation, self-understanding, and embodied change.

Here are some of the most meaningful ways it has shaped my life and the lives of my clients.

9 Ways Quantum Healing Hypnosis sessions can create change for the better

  • sessions can help foster greater understanding of the gifts, energy or wisdom we have to share - growing our acceptance or conscious awareness of them

  • somatic and emotional release of stored emotions from the body tends to happen in these sessions, often in the background - sighs, deeper inhalations, micro-twitches happen and signal releasing long-held tension

  • sessions can help you reach emotional states that you have forgotten how to get to, for example reconnecting the body with experiences of deep relaxation, feelings of support, compassion for others, joy, love or peace

  • occasionally they can help people feel more hope and optimism around life and the long-term perspective of Earth

  • deeper compassion for others: experiencing other lives in these sessions helps put our current life into perspective, as well as have more compassion for everyone going through their own personal experience

  • deep respect for and fascination with the complexity of the human psyche - the body and subconscious are capable of miracles

  • knowing that we know nothing: when someone tells me their life story I may have some ideas of what could show up for them in a session, but more often than not I am surprised by it going in a completely different direction - our souls are complex and the issues we face can be coming from many different layers of us

  • reverence for nature and ecosystems: occasionally experiences of the perspective of a certain being within an ecosystem (for example moss, birds or a panther) allows us to feel into the specific role and interconnectedness in a somatic way

  • connection to the gifts our ancestors pass on to us

This list is based on experience in holding and receiving sessions based on Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, Beyond Quantum Healing, or Introspective Hypnosis.

Ultimately, whether one understands these experiences as symbolic, psychological, spiritual, or a blend of all three matters less than what they make possible. For many people, regression-based and altered-state therapies offer a way to meet parts of themselves with curiosity rather than judgment, and to integrate insight gently over time. As with any therapeutic approach, the most important element is not belief, but readiness — and a sense of being supported in exploring one’s inner landscape at a pace that feels safe and meaningful.
