What a Year

Posted by Stephen Walker Life Coach Over 1 Year Ago

Charles Dickens prophetically summed this year up: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

It has been a year of contradictions. Some of us faced greater challenges than others, some of us prospered. 2020 made it clear to me that we need to step up to create a world that works for all of us.

Closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be requires navigation. You already know that if you keep doing the same things each year, you may not see any change. So, you can benefit by setting up new priorities for yourself and making some adjustments.

I invite you to take time to pause and reflect by asking yourself some questions and actually write down your responses to the questions below.

For the past year:

What were my top five achievements?
What were my top five challenges?
What relationships did I develop?
How did I make a difference?
What am I grateful for?
What did I learn about myself?

For the coming year:

What are my top five goals?
What challenges do I anticipate?
What relationships would I like to strengthen?
What would I like to create in the world?
Where do I want to grow or learn about myself?
