I am a HCPC Integrative Arts Psychotherapist (AS017700).
I have additional training is psychotherapeutic child counselling which I studied alongside my art therapy training and I undertake in regularly yearly CPD.
I have a degree in Psychology and Health studies, my own personal creative arts practice and have also worked in more coaching based support.
Before training as an arts psychotherapist, I worked across education, coaching, and community-based services, supporting both young people and adults. This included one-to-one nannying work, where I developed a strong understanding of early relational needs, child development, and the importance of emotional attunement.
I also held roles in schools, creative outreach projects, and coaching and business environments, where I trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and communication models that support change, reflection, and motivation. This breadth of experience gives me a strong understanding of the systems and emotional landscapes my clients often navigate — including school pressures, parenting demands, or workplace stress — and it informs my integrative, flexible approach.
My work to date has been working within school counselling services; in addition to my primary work a sessional worker for charities who focus on a history of trauma, domestic abuse and sexual violence and assault.
I have also supported clients in the NHS mental health service and perinatal period and parents beyond the first two years.
The background I have in my work is varied because I enjoy being able to support clients of all ages and believe that my specialisms are an ongoing practice.
Whether I see you face to face or online, you will receive an initial email or text to organise a chat over the phone. This way we can work out quickly if we can work together. Therapy is an individual and personal experience and the person you are working with has to feel right for you.
From there we will work out a weekly session time and location.
I take an integrative approach, drawing on:
Creative arts modalities including image-making, symbolism, metaphor, visual journaling, sandtray, puppets, movement, music, and clay
Attachment and trauma-informed thinking, including developmental theory and research from neuroscience
Mindfulness, psychoeducation, and body-based awareness, including insights from yoga and movement practices
Elements of Transactional Analysis (TA) and Gestalt therapy, supporting present-moment insight and relational awareness
A client-centred perspective that honours your story, strengths, unique pace, and individual journey
