About me

Kim Barden Therapies is built around one core belief: people do not stay stuck because they are weak, broken, or lacking motivation. They stay stuck because their brain has learned a pattern that no longer serves them.

I work with business owners, professionals, and individuals who look capable on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or trapped in overthinking and survival mode. Many have spent years trying to “manage” symptoms when what they actually need is a change at the level where the problem is being driven.

Using BWRT®, Hypnotherapy, and neuroscience-based approaches, I help clients reduce the emotional intensity behind anxiety, OCD, trauma responses, self-doubt, procrastination, fears, and limiting beliefs, often without needing to endlessly revisit the past.

My work is calm, direct, practical, and results-focused. No fluff. No dependency. No analysing your childhood for the next ten years.

The aim is simple: help people regain clarity, emotional control, confidence, and the ability to move forward without their nervous system constantly pulling them backwards.

Based in Guildford, Surrey and working online worldwide, I provide confidential, professional support for people who are ready to stop surviving and start functioning properly again.

Specialisms

My specialisms are centred around rapid, neuroscience-based emotional and behavioural change work, particularly for people who feel trapped in survival mode despite appearing functional on the outside.

Key areas include:

1. Integrating BWRT®, neuroscience-based approaches, and ADHD-informed understanding to help clients regulate overwhelm, improve emotional resilience, and reduce self-limiting patterns.

2. Anxiety and chronic stress regulation using BWRT® and hypnotherapy.

3. Trauma responses and PTSD-style reactions, especially where clients feel emotionally stuck, hypervigilant, or overwhelmed.

4. OCD, intrusive thoughts, fears, phobias, and compulsive patterns.

5. Confidence, self-worth, impostor syndrome, procrastination, and limiting beliefs affecting performance and identity.

6. Nervous system-focused work for business owners and professionals under pressure who need clarity, emotional control, and consistent execution.

7. Content-free, fast-change approaches where clients do not need to endlessly relive traumatic experiences.

My Approach

My approach is practical, calm, neuroscience-informed, and results-focused.

I work using BWRT® (BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®), clinical hypnotherapy, and other brain-based approaches designed to help reduce emotional distress and interrupt unhelpful subconscious patterns quickly and effectively. Unlike traditional therapies that may spend years analysing the past, my work focuses on how the brain is responding now, and how those responses can be updated.

Many clients come to me feeling stuck in anxiety, overwhelm, overthinking, procrastination, trauma responses, OCD patterns, low confidence, or emotional exhaustion. Often, they already understand logically what they “should” do, but their nervous system continues reacting as if there is danger.

Sessions are confidential, supportive, and forward-focused. You do not need to relive traumatic experiences in detail for change to happen.

My aim is not to create dependency. It is to help clients regain emotional control, clarity, confidence, and the ability to move forward with greater ease and resilience.
