I am a caring, calm and passionate Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who is a fully accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I am also an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist who incorporates Flash technique and a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Mental Health Nurse.
I can provide evidence-based psychological therapy to Adults, Children and Adolescents. My qualifications are as follows: Level 1 EMDR Child & Adolescent Training (Core), 3-day Training on Therapeutic Supervision: Becoming an Effective Supervisor, Basic and Advanced Flash Technique Certificates, EMDR part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4 Certificates, Certificate for Completion of the Evidence-Based High-Intensity CBT (HIT) for Long Term Health Conditions Course - CPD Route, Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Post Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Primary Care Mental Health: Improved Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT), MSc in Mental Health Practice, Student Mentorship and Preceptorship Course at Post Graduate M level, Master in Education, Diploma of Higher Education with Commendation in Mental Health Nursing, Diploma in Education that included a study of the Theory and Practice of Education and a special study of the education of children. I have full accreditation as a CBT Therapist with the BABCP, accreditation number is 180158. Nursing and Midwifery Council registered, my NMC number is 06F1490E. I adhere to the BABCP and NMC Codes of Ethics in my practice and I have maintained both accreditations to date, I am enhanced DBS checked and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, in order to maintain data confidentiality
I offer treatment for a number of mental health difficulties, and provide a neutral ground to individuals, both adults and children. My experience enables me to offer effective individualised, psychological/ mental health care. Common difficulties that I work with are : Depression Adjustment to living with long term health physical health difficulties Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Social Anxiety Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Health Anxiety Specific Phobias and Agoraphobia Panic Disorder Tourette's Syndrome Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) Separation Anxiety Stress Menopausal symptoms Long Covid symptoms Behavioural and emotional difficulties in children and young people, including anger issues I incorporate mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) based (third wave) approaches to my practice Areas of interest are, Long-term health conditions, OCD and PTSD.
My focus is to help individuals recover, energise and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customising a treatment plan. I aim to be there through every step of my client's journey. My goal is to help them grow from their struggles, recover from their pain and move forward to where they want to be in their lives. I will be here to navigate with clients through their journey to emotional/mental wellbeing in the best way possible for them. I will ensure that a collaborative process takes place between client and myself, the therapist, towards reaching a goal centred treatment plan. I am adaptable in my approaches to suit clients' needs and can negotiate on number of sessions they wish to have. I have NHS based clinical Training based on the latest evidence-based models and techniques, to provide clients with a high standard of care. I participate in CPD courses as suited to my job to keep my knowledge current. There will be constant monitoring of progress via completion of specialised questionnaires to help us both to better understand how clients are feeling and would regularly review these.
