About me

Do you ever find yourself falling into the same unhelpful patterns - relationships, working too much, health - but don't seem to be able to stop this? Do you ever feel distress, anxiety, depression or sadness that can feel uncontrollable? As a psychologist with ten years experience offering therapy and counselling, often to individuals with complex needs, I am passionate about helping you to break your cycles and understand why they occur. This can include offering a safe space to explore any history of difficult experiences which you still feel effect you. I am a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC and a Forensic Psychologist chartered with the British Psychological Society. I have trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including EMDR and Schema Therapy. I have over ten years' experience of offering a wide range of therapy to both individuals and groups. I currently work in the NHS, whilst also developing my private practice. In particular, I have a passion for supporting individuals who might find themselves stuck in patterns of behaviour that they find distressing but struggle to change. Sometimes this is diagnosed as Personality Disorder. My experience includes working to help manage conditions such as anxiety, depression and OCD, but I can also offer individual support for anger management, substance misuse and relationship issues.

Experience

I am a Chartered Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC and a Registered Forensic Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. I have worked in a range of settings including with community patients, inpatient wards and Prisons.

My Approach

I am trained in EMDR for trauma, PTSD and anxiety disorders. I am an accredited schema therapist which can be used to address personality disorder and complex PTSD. Schema therapy focuses on understanding our lifelong patterns of behaviour, and how early experiences have formed unhelpful ways of coping, which we continue as adults. If you would like more information, please contact me and we can arrange an initial telephone consultation. I am aware that taking the first step towards therapy can be daunting, and it is normal to have anxieties and questions about this. I am here to guide you through this at your own pace, offering a welcoming, professional space to process your problems. I am able to offer individual therapy sessions either face to face (Northampton and Market Harborough) or through video therapy. Please get in contact to discuss these options.
