About me

I work with high-achieving midlife professionals who appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in self-doubt beneath the surface. You may be juggling significant responsibilities while struggling to switch off, manage stress, or feel good enough.

I offer a space where you can step back from the pressure, understand what’s driving these patterns, and begin to feel more grounded, confident, and in control.

Experience

I am a psychotherapist with over 20 years' experience supporting adults with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

I have particular experience working with work stress, anxiety, imposter syndrome, and ADHD. My background includes supporting clients in high-pressure professional environments, where performance and responsibility can often mask underlying distress.

Training & Qualifications:

• BSc (Hons) Psychology, Birkbeck, University of London, 1999, British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited course.

• MSc Counselling Psychology, City University, London (now City St George’s, University of London), 2003, recognised as part of the British

Psychological Society (BPS) professional training route in counselling psychology.

• Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies, University of Bolton (now University of Greater Manchester), 2025, British

Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) accredited course.

Credentials:

• British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist - 2012

• British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist - 2016

• British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist - 2025

Specialisms

I specialise in working with high-achieving individuals who may be struggling with:

* Anxiety and chronic stress

* Burnout and work-related pressure

* Perfectionism and self-criticism

* Impostor syndrome

* Low self-esteem and confidence

* Overthinking and difficulty switching off

* ADHD (including focus, organisation, and emotional regulation)

I also support clients who feel that their success comes at a personal cost, affecting relationships, well-being, or sense of identity.

My Approach

My approach is structured, practical, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you feel both understood and supported, while also helping you make meaningful, lasting changes. I primarily work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), both of which have a strong evidence base.

Alongside careful listening, I offer honest reflections and practical strategies you can begin to use in your day-to-day life. We work together to understand patterns such as overthinking, perfectionism, or self-doubt, and to develop more balanced and helpful ways of responding.

Clients often value this balance, feeling heard while also gaining clarity, direction, and tools to move forward. My style is direct yet supportive, and I adapt the pace and focus of our work to suit your needs and circumstances.
