Colin Thomson
Counsellor in East Kilbride

Hello and thank you for visiting my page.

My name is Colin and I am an experienced Person-Centred Counsellor who offers kind and compassionate counselling to adults and young people in both a face-to-face and online safe space.

I have a private practice based in East Kilbride (near Glasgow) where I support both adults and young people (11-17 years old).

In addition to being in private practice, I also work in education as a school counsellor at a large comprehensive supporting school pupils with a range of mental health concerns.

Prior to becoming a Counsellor in 2019 I worked in industry and have found that bringing my life experiences to my counselling practice can be beneficial for my clients

I have also spent many years volunteering to support adults and young people in the mental health sector and I have been heavily involved in grassroots football supporting young people.

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

The foundation of the Person-Centred Approach to counselling is based on the offering of empathy, kindness and compassion, and this is what I would offer in my own practice to adults and young people.

I truly believe that for counselling to be a success then the relationship between counsellor and client is of great importance.

In our sessions together I would work to form a relationship with you to based on trust and warmth, empowering you to make small steps towards positive change in your life.
