Emma Rice Counselling

Emma Rice
Counsellor in Grantham

I understand how difficult it can be to reach out - finding the right words, feeling worthy of help, or even knowing where to begin. I've been in that same seat, and taking the first step is incredibly brave.

If something here resonates - even a quiet sense that things aren't quite right - you are not alone. Reaching out can feel daunting, but it is a brave first step. If you're ready, or just curious, I would be honoured to hear from you. We can begin gently, with no pressure - just a space to be met and truly heard.

Background & Counselling Qualifications

My background is quite varied. For nine years before beginning training to become a therapist, I was a stay-at-home mum raising three children and a cockapoo! I flitted between jobs that just helped to pay the bills, and it wasn't until my father unfortunately passed away and I sought out therapy, that I realised how much I was born for this career.

I have a King's Trust Level 5 Diploma in Therapuetic Counselling Practice and a diploma in Couples Counselling.

My Specialisms

I am a qualified psychotherapist supporting adults navigating anxiety, low self-worth, trauma, and the often unspoken complexities of life. As someone who is late-diagnosed with ADHD, I have lived experience of neurodiversity and understand the unique challenges it can bring. I offer guidance and support for those exploring their own neurodivergent identity, managing ADHD, or simply seeking a space that understands how your mind works.

I also offer space for couples counselling and divorce counselling.

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

My approach is warm, intuitive, and calmly paced. I offer a space where nothing is too much, and nothing needs to be hidden. Together, we can explore what feels heavy, what's been buried, and what might be ready to shift. I pride myself on being both compassionate and real. I will support you, but I'll also respectfully challenge unhelpful patters and encourage you to step into a more authentic, empowered version of yourself.

I offer face-to-face sessions in my counselling studio in Grantham, as well as remote and email sessions. My practice draws from person-centred counselling, incorporating psychodynamic and CBT approaches, tailored to your individual needs. Whether you want to understand long-standing patterns, manage neurodiverse challenges, or simply have a space to be heard, therapy can offer a gentle and powerful way forward.
