Approach to Counselling & How I Work

My approach to counselling is integrative, which means I adapt my methods to what works best for you. We can explore various techniques, from cognitive behavioural therapy to a person-centred approach, to help you in your journey of self-exploration. I sometimes use creative therapy (like stonework or imagery) or after-session tasks to support your work. I am also a trained Drawing and Talking practitioner, an experiential therapy that can be a powerful tool for those who have experienced trauma.

Over my career, I've provided counselling in a range of settings, including schools, youth agencies, counselling charities, and my private practice. This has given me extensive experience working with a wide range of ages, from children and young people to adults. I also have specific expertise working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and ASD.
