I am a qualified and registered Child and Family Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (MBACP) with over 15 years of experience working with children, young people, and their families across both the voluntary and public sectors.
Alongside my private practice, I work in both the charity and public sectors, supporting children, parents and carers, school staff, and liaising with a wide range of external agencies. This has given me a broad understanding of the systems and support structures that surround families, which I bring into my therapeutic work when helpful.
I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to think, feel, and reflect. My style is empathetic, curious, and always guided by the unique needs of each person, parent and child.
While my core training is psychodynamic, I take an integrative approach, drawing on a range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), systemic approaches, mindfulness, and Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) parenting principles. This flexibility allows me to tailor our work together to what will be most helpful for you and your family.
I believe that parents are often best placed to bring about meaningful and lasting change in their children's lives. When adults do make changes, the ripple effects can transform family dynamics. At the same time, I recognise how demanding and emotionally complex parenting can be—how it can bring stress, self-doubt, and even shame. Therapy can offer relief from these pressures and create space for reflection and renewed confidence.
Often, difficulties in parenting are linked not only to a child's behaviour, but also to a parent's own emotional experiences. In our work together, we may explore your thoughts, feelings, memories, and patterns—particularly those that may be influencing how you relate to your child. Understanding yourself more deeply enables you to be more emotionally present and responsive to your child's needs.
I work from a whole-systems perspective, which means I don't see problems as belonging to just one person. Instead, I consider how relationships and wider environments contribute to difficulties. By working together, we can identify and build on what's already going well, develop practical strategies, and help you feel more confident and in control as a parent.
Sometimes, the challenges can feel overwhelming. Together, we can explore your particular situation and decide where to place focus—knowing that we will get to the other issues in time. Our shared goal is to get to the root of the struggles and create meaningful, lasting change for your family.
