Specialisms

Trauma Trauma can deeply affect how we think, feel, and relate to ourselves and others. In psychodynamic psychotherapy, we create a safe and supportive space to explore the roots of your experiences, helping you process unresolved pain and discover patterns that may be holding you back. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, fostering deeper self-awareness and building resilience as you move toward healing and growth. Depression Depression can feel like an invisible barrier, affecting how you experience yourself, others, and the world around you. It may show up as persistent sadness, low energy, or a loss of interest in things that once brought you joy. In psychodynamic psychotherapy, we will work together to uncover the underlying emotional patterns and past experiences that may contribute to these feelings. Relational issues Our early life experiences shape how we connect with others, often influencing our relationships in ways we may not fully realize. Patterns from the past can reappear in the present, leading to challenges like conflict, misunderstandings, or feeling disconnected. Psychodynamic psychotherapy explores these recurring patterns and their roots. By gaining deeper insight into your emotions, behaviors, and relationship dynamics, you can make meaningful changes, build healthier connections, and experience relationships with greater understanding and fulfillment. Identity issues Struggles with identity can leave you feeling uncertain about who you are, what you value, or where you belong. These challenges often stem from unresolved experiences, relationships, or expectations that have shaped how you see yourself. Psychodynamic psychotherapy provides a compassionate and supportive space to explore these complexities. Together, we will work towards gaining clarity, confidence, acceptance, and a deeper connection to your true self. This process can open the door to greater self-understanding and a more fulfilling life.

My Approach

My core model is psychodynamic psychotherapy. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy has its roots in the Psychoanalytic tradition and focuses on the unconscious part of the mind, a part of which we are not aware. Psychodynamic psychotherapy also looks at the importance of our early relationships in shaping our ability to form relationships and build a sense of the self. One of the central ideas in psychodynamic therapy is that when something is very painful we tend to ignore it. Most of the time we know when we are doing this, but sometimes we bury something so successfully that we lose sight of it completely. This is why difficult experiences in the past can continue to affect the way we feel and behave in the present. The goal of psychodynamic psychotherapy is to reach self-awareness and understanding of how the past affects present behaviour. Psychodynamic psychotherapy provides a safe place to talk about and explore how you feel and to understand what might be causing your difficulties.
