Hello, and welcome. Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply sensing that something needs to change in your life. Perhaps you are dealing with a specific crisis, or maybe you just feel a general sense of unease that you cannot quite pinpoint. Whatever has brought you to this page today, I want you to know that you do not have to navigate these challenges alone.
As a dedicated professional, my absolute priority is to provide a safe, confidential, and completely non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and life experiences at your own pace. I believe that healing begins when we feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood for exactly who we are. In my practice, there is no pressure to say the right thing or to share everything all at once; we move at a speed that feels secure and comfortable for you.
I understand that life is busy and that traditional therapy settings do not work for everyone. Because of this, I am passionate about making support accessible, flexible, and tailored to your lifestyle. I offer three distinct ways for us to connect: warm and grounding face-to-face sessions, flexible and convenient online therapy via Zoom, and text-based email sessions for those who express themselves best through the written word. Full details regarding my pricing, availability, and how these options work can be found directly on my website.
Choosing the right therapist is an important decision, and it is vital that you find someone who feels like a good fit for you. If you feel my approach resonates with what you are looking for, I invite you to reach out. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing.
I am a fully qualified practitioner holding a Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, and I am a registered member of the BACP, adhering strictly to their ethical framework.
Alongside my private therapeutic practice, I have extensive professional experience working as a dedicated carer supporting adults with learning disabilities (LD) and autism. This dual career pathway deeply enriches my counselling work and gives me a unique perspective on human connection. Working in care has taught me the true value of patience, deep empathy, and adaptive communication. I understand that traditional spoken language is not the only way people express distress or joy.
The skills I use daily in my caregiving role—such as intuitive listening, emotional grounding techniques, and sensory awareness—seamlessly transfer into my therapy sessions. This background makes me uniquely equipped to support individuals who may feel chronically misunderstood, those who navigate neurodiversity, and anyone who struggles to put their deepest feelings into words. My professional background ensures that I meet every single client with an open mind, an adaptive approach, and an unwavering respect for their individual way of experiencing the world.
While I welcome adults from all walks of life experiencing a diverse range of mental health challenges, my unique background allows me to offer specialised and deeply informed support in several core areas.
My primary specialisms include:
* Neurodiversity and Sensory Support: Providing an inclusive, understanding space for autistic individuals, those with ADHD, and people with unique sensory profiles.
* Learning Disabilities (LD): Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, as well as offering a supportive space for their family members, parents, and caregivers who may be experiencing burnout.
* Anxiety, Stress, and Overwhelm: Helping clients manage the exhausting physical and mental impacts of chronic stress and anxiety.
* Self-Esteem and Identity: Working with those who struggle with low self-worth, masking their true selves, or feeling like they do not fit into society's expectations.
* Life Transitions and Isolation: Guiding individuals through major life adjustments, grief, or periods of intense loneliness.
* Alternative Communication Therapy: Specialising in email therapy for clients who find face-to-face or verbal communication overwhelming, allowing them the time and space to process their thoughts through writing at their own pace.
I practice from a strictly person-centred perspective, which forms the foundation of everything I do. This therapeutic approach is built on the firm belief that you are the absolute expert on your own life, your own experiences, and your own healing. I won't sit with you as an aloof expert who will diagnose you, label you, or tell you how to live your life. Instead, my role is to facilitate a relationship rooted in total acceptance, deep empathy, and absolute genuineness.
In our sessions, you are completely in control. You set the agenda, you choose what we talk about, and you dictate the pace at which we explore difficult topics. There is no pressure to achieve specific milestones; we move at a speed that feels secure and comfortable for you.
Whether we meet face-to-face in a traditional room, online via Zoom video calls, or asynchronously through email sessions, my goal remains exactly the same: to walk alongside you on your journey. I aim to help you uncover your own inner strength, process past or present pain, and discover your own solutions. I offer a collaborative partnership where you can safely let your guard down and feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued.
